so here’s the short of it. i’ve always wanted to try songwriting. and i’ve had a lot of people over the past 3 or 4 years tell me that they thought i had enough talent to pull off something like that.

i decided late last year that my goal was to try and write an album’s worth of songs and then somehow get them recorded. there is no goal after that, which is beautiful.

i’ve messed around with writing bits and pieces ever since i learned guitar, but nothing with ever really noteworthy or anything, so i’m starting from a pretty basic place. i’ve got a love of music, of God, and a desire to create something that people could identify with and something that would mean something to them. something to give them joy or hope or at least let them know that there is someone out there who understands.

i’ve always been fascinated with reading about the songs that my favorite bands write and where they came from. every now and then i’d get some insight into their songwriting, but not everyone does this.

so in short: this blog is an attempt to give you some insight into my experience.
