so you should also know that i technically started the whole writing thing last november.
so there are some pieces of songs that exist already that i will be referencing and some of them have names. the songs i haven’t named yet i just give crazy names to that have something to do with where the lyrics came from or where i wrote it or whatever until i can come up with a real name for them.
so here is the rundown of all the existing song pieces i can think of, preceded by their weird names:
‘back of the jeep’ - a song i wrote from start to finish sitting in the back of my jeep in 85 degree heat. do i even have to say it was really hot back there. no i didn’t think so.
‘hated prechorus song’ – the first idea that came to me for this song was the prechorus. who writes a song starting from the prechorus??? i think something is wrong with me. in any case i decided shortly thereafter that the prechorus was horrible and thus the title was born.
‘george macdonald’ - a song idea inspired from a short snippet from the poet of the same name.
‘rise’ – this one isn’t a silly name at all. it will probably be called ‘rise’ because it just makes sense. i mean isn’t it some musical law that the main word in your chorus is always supposed to be the name of the song?
‘coldplayish song’ - the acoustic guitar sounded a little coldplayish to me.
‘the one with the riff’ - the song was built around this acoustic riff thing i came up with that you can play right along with the chords thanks to the magic of putting your capo on backwards.
so there you go. sooner or later they’ll all get real names when they get more finished. for example, ‘back of the jeep’ will most likely be called either ‘great’ or ‘he is great’. but we’ll see.
