maybe the best songs do come out fast.

there’s this page of thoughts that i wrote sometime in early 2006 at a ccf retreat that i’ve been wanting to use for a song forever…but the words just wouldn’t match up right and there was no suitable tune to be found anywhere. i must have stared at those pages hundreds of times; nothing ever came of it. well, out of nowhere, comes this melody. it carries the idea from the pages but has a lot of different words, and i actually like it, if you can believe that. anyway, the basic idea came really fast, and at least for now it’s sticking. right now i’m calling it ‘ccf retreat song’ since that’s where most of the words came from.
