on recording today buddy, you better believe it. it’s like the stars aligned right and all the recording stuff i’ve been thinking about and how i might do it all went from thoughts to action. maybe it’s because it was raining and rain is conducive to my creativity. maybe i didn’t have a lot of work to do. all i know is the recording room was in full swing like you’ve never seen it before.

i started with a re-recording of the shaker on “not the end” because i changed the tempo some…then i recorded acoustic on that also. honestly i’m not sure what else will be in that song instrument wise. but i can add vocals to it next and see how i feel about it then.

then i went crazy on “great” (or “he is great” or whatever i’m calling it). basically the whole song is tracked now and it is sounding wunderbar, i must say. i stumbled across a good electric riff for the bridge, and this wicked delay part at the end of the song….oh man that part is awesome. it all sounds so full now…it’s weird to hear all the instruments on it besides just the acoustic like i’ve been sitting around playing it for the past however long. so i’m really excited to add a basic vocal track to it tomorrow and see how it sounds all together.

it all seems so daunting when i think about it. but when i’m sitting there in the middle of it all tracking everything it is terribly fun to do. it sure beats working anyway!
