i just finished another one. it was words on a page i had written a few weeks ago, and the first line on the page was “what else matters but your love” or something and then i had written a bunch of other stuff that made me think of. i think maybe i got too focused on that first line because once i ignored it entirely things started flowing a lot better. so that line isn’t anywhere in the song at all. i omitted a bunch of other crap from the paper too and sort of honed in on what i wanted to say and it came out pretty well.

anyway it is called “consume” for now and it is very mellow. also i believe it is the first fingerpicked song i’ve written so far.

also i think every song i’ve written so far uses a capo and so this one does not. in fact it features the “drop d” tuning for you guitarists out there. maybe i am sick of the capo. we’ll have to see.
