it came yesterday i think when this chord progression got in my head. actually it was more notes than chords. then i figured out how to get chords to it and i liked it. but as we all know, i am forgetful — and i didn’t record it. so i went to lunch, came back, and could not remember the rhythm for the life of me even though i wrote down the chords. so i mulled over it for about 15 minutes then it came back. i was happy and i recorded it so as to not forget again.

the words i came up with didn’t fit the chords at all though. they move along quite nicely but then i had these lyrics that were kind of depressing…all like “who has felt alone, who has fallen down low” kinda stuff. it was funny how poorly they fit.

anyway, today i sat down and tried mess with it again. it got faster somehow overnight and has a much better vibe to it, and has most of a chorus and a bridge finished. no ideas on the title yet but it’s nice to have something else that’s moving along.

i’m also tweaking this one called “are you here” (title probably going to change) because the high point in the song doesn’t fit rhythmically with the rest of the song. also some of the words are changing too. i was saying “let me see” in the chorus but there has to be a better way to say it than that…it was kind of boring.
