today at least. i had a light work day and i actually spent 75% of the day on music. those two usually don’t line up. but today my friend, the stars (sun?) aligned perfectly.

this morning i tweaked ‘king forever’ some more to where i’d say i’m about 87% satisfied. i am ranking on a scale of 0% to 95%, as i doubt i’ll ever be 100% satisfied with a home recording. but alas.

the remaining 8% will likely consist of redoing the vocals and adding another electric track or two to fill it out.

after that i started ‘not the end’. i built a new shaker loop for it in garage band, and it was considerably easier than last time to get it to loop right. maybe i just had more rhythm today or something, who knows. then i decided that this song would be the first to feature piano. so i built that in garageband too.

i won’t lie to you, i really like how it came out. of course again the vocals could be redone to be better, but like king forever they’re decent. maybe i’ll have a day where i just redo vocals for everything.

either way, that means i basically finished a whole song in one day, which is awesome. i’m not sure which one i’ll tackle next, but i’ll let you know. in fact i might even begin to post some snippets up here….
