so i finished up the life after death song today. i had most of the first verse done yesterday and a big chunk of the second that i hated. but today i reworked how the first verse was sung and tweaked some words and i had it. the second verse was scrapped and replaced entirely with much improvement. anyway, it is called ‘You Are Never Really Gone’ and i believe it is in the key of B. it feels good to have written something new, not to mention finished it. wrote the tab and everything. she’s done. *dusts off hands*.
also i just finished redoing the piano part for ‘not the end’. i thought i was going to have to redo the whole thing but then i remembered a). i really liked the end pat i already came up with and b). there was really only one or two parts that were really on my nerves. so nothing big, just got rid of the annoying parts and changed a few others for fun.
but do you know what this means?
when i re-import the new piano track to pro tools and effect it a bit, all i have to do is mix down the whole thing (and maybe tweak the final mix some). and if there are no unforseen snags, i will have officially finished the first home recording version of a song! hooray many times. if i am ambitious enough with getting my work done in the morning i could possibly finish it and have some family listen to it tomorrow night. first feedback on a home recording. fantastic. let’s hope that can happen. i’ll sure try. anxious to give one track the car test.
hey kiess, i am enjoying reading what you’re actually “doing” and look forward to hearing some of it!
