i probably did one take for about half the songs today. they’re listed in alphabetical order on the computron so i just went in that order. i got through all of them until the bridge of king forever and then i felt my voice start to go a bit south. i didn’t warm up much or anything first, which was probably stupid. i think i should at least sing through a few of them as a warmup before i start next time. 

there is also the question of when your voice is best for vocal recording. i would have always said for myself that i sing best at night and have heard that a lot…but it’s harder to make a racket in an apartment complex at night without feeling bad for the ol’ neighbors.  although the neighbor i share a wall with i think has a baby and they probably hate me as it is.  :)

so…warmups next time for sure. then i thought i’d probably try recording at different times of day to see if that helps. optimistically, i’ might try to go for 3 takes of the vocals for each song and hopefully i can piece those together enough to have something worth keeping. i got (sort of) busy monday and tuesday and couldn’t do much of anything on the music front, but i need to make sure i’m doing some of these every day for the next 6 days or so, cause this takes awhile.
