it was a mad dash there at the end, with thanksgiving right around the corner, travel plans, and budgeted time running out, but we got it done wednesday night. i put the final stamp-off on the last few songs and that was that.

i panicked for a moment during ‘nothing else’ — there is this background thing i wanted in there that i wanted both me and bethany to sing, and apparently we only recorded her singing it. it just wasn’t the same and there was no time for me to sing something at the house real quick and send it over. luckily travis had the idea of looking back at the guide track; it didn’t end up having the part but that reminded me that it would be in my original version. there was a difference in tempo but he solved it and the part got included after all — crazy, right?

so far i can definitely see why people don’t want to make records on a small budget — the time constraints alone can cause a lot of panic, forgetting stuff, stress….you name it. but we’ve been able to find workarounds for pretty much every snag we’ve hit, so i’m grateful for that.

so….thanksgiving has come and gone (although for us we still have more visits and dinners on the agenda tomorrow). next the files get delivered to the mastering guy, who i hear might take about a week. so now before he’s ready i’ve got to pick a production company (got it narrowed down to 2 or 3 at this point) and get their template so i can start designing the cover and insert and stuff.

still on track for christmas from what i can see!
